Milking Parlour

This is the original milking parlour probably built from a kit in the late 40s-early 50s. It was where the dairy farmer milked his cows 2x per day.  When we opened the doors it was full of trash and rusted equipment – quite like the rest of what we inherited with this purchase!

What do we do to pygmalion this pigsty?

Cladding the outside of the Milking Parlour

We decided to board and batten clad the outer building, change the doors to new “old” doors and then paint it all white.

At this point in our project, the idea of everything Black & White was born!    For the interior, we re-did the stucco on the walls, white washed everything, re-wired the electricity and put up ceiling fans.  Today it’s no longer a milking parlour but houses a lunch room (The Lunchy Room) and the cattle health area with refrigeration.
