Fall Floral Arrangements
We recently hosted a wonderful birthday party at Lowfields for our friend Don. I had a great time putting together "fall" arrangements for the festive occasion. Fall floral arranging doesn't just have to be just oranges and yellows... I love adding in purples and pinks as well!
Crazy colored mums! I am going to replant these later in my garden... |
Love the color combo of orange and purples and pinks.. especially since the lantana was still blooming! |
Another beauty! |

Seed Savers
I always save the seeds from my annual flowers every year. This is a thrifty way to ensure you will have plenty of flowers for cutting- an even lazier way is to cut off the heads of plants and let the seeds fall where they will...
Boltonia asters and tansy multiply without planting |
Zinnias are very easy to seed |
I usually cut off the dead heads and save for next year planting |

October Wedding
When Fall arrives, I always think of our friends Rebecca and Alexski's beautiful wedding that we had at Lowfields. It was set up in one of the barns with burlap, gingham, feathers and fruit. And Alexski made all the beautiful signs and chandeliers. The Long Barn was definitely transformed into a wedding wonderland, when it usually just holds all of our tractors!
Happy Anniversary!
