February Snow!

We've been hibernating here at Lowfields as we have had our first snow of the season! Makes you want to stay inside and snuggle up with a book.  I am currently reading one of my presents from Christmas, "My Life" by Keith Richards.  The beauty and tranquility here at the farm is quite different compared to the crazy life of The Stones!

All the cattle took refuge in the barns

Beautiful!

Floyd was smart and stayed inside all snuggled up

Snuggly Warm on a Winter Day

Who doesn't like to be all snuggly warm on a winter day?  I felt the calves should enjoy the small comfort of a "feather bed"... I had Rolando roll out hay so they could snuggle in and have a bit of extra warmth.

A lovely "feather" bed for warmth

Please don't interrupt my nap!

Operation Robin Rescue

As you know by now, I am a great lover of all animals and although I am not a certified wildlife rescuer, over the years, I have tried my best attempt at it and have successfully treated and released several birds.   This morning I met an adult robin who was unable to fly and he is now quite comfortable in his rehab at our home in Raleigh.   I will wish him the best and release him once he has fully recovered!
